care

A friendly plea to all the movers and shakers out there in the verse.

As a space, there is always a lot of talk about technology and platforms, and what they can do for the people here. That's cool but we can tend to forget the driving force is people and communities. People grow community and communities benefit from tech. Please spare a thought for those that depend on human scale quality organic engagement and direct material support to survive, not the vapidity tied to empty metrics or false senses of “reach” from scale at all costs paradigms.

The value of community and durable interactive organic connections are sometimes lost in the context of having greater reach. It can be all too common to abandon durable relationships in a small group in favour of trying to influence a larger crowd.

RFF is driven to emphasise the importance of uplifting and supporting the bard class. If you might have any periphery concern for #community #solidarity #agency #care please consider using your voice, platform, privilege, or some of that one-way reach toward helping uplift some independent creatives.

RFF is unapolgetically pro-artist and work to offer I hope an honest and transparent discovery layer, giving you the opportunity to meet HUNDREDS of outstanding independent artists, who happen to be in your digital neighbourhood.

RFF offers the invitation to drop-in, discover and then go directly support artists with a kind word, collaboration, or materially and amiably through whatever mechanisms the artist can manage to navigate and present.

Please drop-in, have a listen, and if the vibe resonates please amplify what we are doing. Send new friends, listeners and artists our way.

And if you don't want to do that for RFF, cool, please consider helping boost “small” artists directly. The impact a few new supporters, donations and kind words have is of such exceptional value, but sadly that can often be taken for granted or missed by those who don't need it persay.

I promise you from a litany of empirical evidence and testimonials, this is a massive way to put power, good, care and reciprocal love into our troubled timeline.

Please don't be afraid the idea of fostering organic human support will be a waste of time or negatively affect your position of clout. There are heaps of friendly folk who happen to be in the fedi and are making great art that is worth sharing! Supporting them is quite easy.

Help us promote the vibe of fostering organic community, collaboration, care and support. Send as direct support as possible to independent and marginalised artists so that they can continue to find their voice, survive and create. We all benefit from that!
